ELLENSBURG, WA — Saint Martin's Men's Basketball (19-10, 8-8 GNAC) squared off against the Central Washington Wildcats in their final GNAC road contest of the 2025 season.
The Saints would begin the contest on the back foot as the Wildcats would jump out to a 9-0 lead.
Omer Ege Peksari would start the scoring off for SMU with a big three that would contribute to his seven total during the game, which would be followed up by an and-one layup by
Jayshawn Moore and a subsequent three-point basket from him as well. Moore would finish the contest with 11 points and four rebounds while both him and Peksari would tie for a team-high with two blocks apiece.
Marcel Stevens would get his night going with made free throws en route to a 16-point scoring performance. Stevens would also contribute five assists and four rebounds in his effort. Even with some of the scoring efforts for the Saints, the Wildcats would take advantage of their opportunities in the first half to put up 54 points on 17-30 (56.7%) shooting from the field. The scoring surge would put the Saints at a 54-33 deficit going into halftime.
Myles Samuels would lead the offense through the rest of the contest, dropping a team-high 19 points on 8-11 (72.7%) shooting from the field. He would be aided by
Diego Trejo-Delgado who would be the fourth Saint to have a double-digit scoring performance during the game with 10.
Immanuel Oludele would get to work in the paint, leading SMU with 10 rebounds. The offense would find points, but Central Washington would find responses throughout the rest of the contest. The Saints would find a spark towards the middle of the second half, cutting the lead down to just eight points, but the Wildcats would get back in rhythm and regain control. CWU would claim the victory 87-70 and end up shooting 14-25 (56%) from beyond the three-point line.
