SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Saint Martin's Women's Soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss at Dominican on Thursday, September 12.
The Saints managed nine shots and five shots on goal, but a quick start and offensive surge by the Penguins ultimately results in a defeat for SMU. The loss dropped SMU's record to 1-2 on the season.
How It Happened
- Dominican started off the game with a quick goal, scoring in the second minute off a low-left goal from Megan Clapinski.
- The Penguins added goals in the 17th and 28th minutes, extending the lead to 3-0 at halftime. The Saints totaled four shot attempts in the first half and tallied four corner kicks.
- Dominican added second-half goals in the 50th, 61st, and 75th minutes. The Penguins saw six different players score. Saint Martin's added five shots and three corner kicks in the second half, but were unable to make up any ground in what resulted in a 6-0 defeat.
