BILLINGS, Mont. — The Saint Martin's Women's Soccer team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Montana State Billings on Saturday, September 27.
After a neck-and-neck game that was tied at 0-0 through the first 87 minutes of the match, Montana State Billings scored a late game-winning goal that resulted in a Saint loss.
How It Happened
- Both teams were scoreless in the first half, as Saint Martin's saw three shot attempts and one shot on goal, compared to four shot attempts and one shot on goal for Montana State Billings.
- In the second half, the Saints saw an increase in offense, as the team totaled 12 shots. SMU finished the game with a 15-9 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
- With the minutes winding down and a 0-0 tie seeming imminent, the Yellowjackets scored the crucial goal in the 88th minute off a low-left shot by Kennedy Craig assisted by Cesia Swain.
