LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Women's Soccer team lost its 2026 GNAC opener to Seattle Pacific by a score of 3-0 at Saints Soccer Field on Thursday, September 17.
The Saints trailed by one goal for most of the match and remained within striking distance, until two goals in the final five minutes by the Falcons put the game out of reach. The loss dropped the Saints' record to 1-4-1 on the season.
How It Happened
- Seattle Pacific held an 11-2 advantage in shots in the first half, but the Saints kept the score within 0-1 by halftime. SPU's Ashlyn Valdovinos scored in the eighth minute off assists from Piper Paslay and Nora Patterson.
- Bella Gonzales and Lia Lopez each recorded shots on goal for the Saints in the first half.
- Saint Martin's totaled four shots in the second half, but was unable to make up any ground. Seattle Pacific scored in the 86th and 88th minutes to put the game away 3-0.
Top Performers
- Taegan Saragose-Deocares led the Saint with two shots and one shot on goal.
- Kamryn Ellis recorded two shots.
- Sam Escobar totaled five saves in goal for the Saints.
