The 2014 season will mark DeAngelis first season as a member of the Saint Martin's University baseball coaching staff. Alex will serve in an assistant coaching role while working with the pitchers.

He served as the varsity pitching coach at South Eugene High School from 2008-09 helping to groom Joe Schindler who went on to become the 6A Pitcher of the Year in Oregon and play at Northwestern University.

This past summer he served as a league-wide pitching coach for the Puget Sound Collegiate League. In 2009 he was the pitching coach for the South Eugene Varsity Legion team.

DeAngelis competed collegiately at Chapman University and George Fox. He is currently pursuing a undergraduate degree at Southern New Hampshire University.

A 2003 graduate of Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis he was a 2003 first team all-league selection while earning letters in football and baseball. He competed in the 2003 American Legion World Series as he guided his team to a third-place finish and all-tournament team honors.

His step father is the head baseball coach at the University of Kentucky.
