Saints Outdoor Season Off to Great Start After UPS Invitational

TACOMA, Wash. – Saint Martin's Track and Field kicked off the outdoor season with 11 podium finishes led by Jack Farrell and Alyssa Duncan's first place finishes.

Alyssa Duncan won the women's long jump with a mark of 4.96m (16-ft, 3.25-in) and finished third in women's triple jump with a mark of 10.06m (33-ft, 0.25-in).
 
Right behind Duncan was her teammate, Gabriela Cintron, in second with a mark of 4.74m (15-ft, 6.75-in).
 
Jack Farrell won the men's 800m with a time of 1:58.26.
 
In the women's 400m, Cree Bell placed second with a time of 1:00.12.
 
On the men's side of the 400m, Zachary Franco crossed the finish line at the 50.96 mark for a second place finish.
 
Alisha Saucedo (4:46.66), Alauna Carstens (4:48.48) and Naomi Hartley (4:58.33) all finished second, third and fifth respectively to give Saint Martin's a dominant performance in the women's 1500m.
 
In the men's 5000m, Eli Dale finished fifth with a time of 16:04.21.
 
Sara Sabra finished third in the women's 10000m with a time of 37:27.60.
 
On the men's side of the 10000m, Isaac Cortes finished fifth with a time of 31:11.36 and Kainalu Pagente finished eighth with a time of 31:38.61.
 
In the women's discus throw, Jocelyn Saribay finished sixth with a mark of 33.65m (110-ft, 4-in) and sixth in women's shot put 10.96m (35-ft, 11.5-in).
 
Ethan Guidry finished fourth with a mark of 50.74m (166-ft, 5-in).
 
In men's pole vault, Ryan Doidge cleared 4:17m (13-ft, 8.25-in) on his first attempt to earn a third place finish.
 
Hewie Nguyen place second in men's triple jump with a mark of 12.93m (42-ft, 5.25-in).
 
The Saints will be heading back to Tacoma to participate in the PLU open on March, 11th.
