Saints Leave Peyton-Shotwell Invitational with 24 Podium Finishes

TACOMA, Wash. – Saint Martin's dominated the Peyton-Shotwell Invitational with eight events won and 24 podium finishes across 16 different events. The men's team finished second out of 13 teams with 114.5 total points and the women's team also finished second out of 13 teams with 132 total points.

For the third consecutive meet, Gabriela Cintron ran away with the 100m hurdles, winning the event with a time of 15.16.
 
In the men's 110m hurdles, Andrew Boyd won the event with a time of 15.66. Boyd also won the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.2 against his own brother Noah Boyd, who finished second with a time of 1:00.29.
 
Sarah Neilsen won the women's hammer throw with a mark of 41.18m (135-ft, 1-in). In second place was her teammate, Jocelyn Saribay with a mark of 40.75m (133-ft, 8-in).
 
In the men's javelin throw, Ethan Guidry won the event with a mark of 53.25m (174-ft, 8-in). Andrew Boyd finished third in the event as well, with a mark of 50.22m (164-ft, 9-in).
 
In women's long jump, Saint Martin's took the entire podium with Alyssa Duncan winning the event with a mark of 5.08m (16-ft, 8-in), Gabriela Cintron in second with a mark of 4.86m (15-ft, 11.5-in) and Margaret Zilla in third with a mark of 4.74m (15-ft, 6.75-in). Hannah Cook finished fifth in the event with a mark of 4.45m (14-ft, 7.25-in).
 
In men's pole vault, Ryan Doidge won the event with a height of 4.10m (13-ft, 5.25-in) on the first attempt. Andrew Boyd finished third in the event with a height of 3.35m (10-ft, 11.75-in).
 
In the women's 100m, Maddy Vu finished second with a time of 12.58, Cree Bell finished third with a time of 12.89 and Grace Sills finished fourth with a time of 12.89m.
 
The women's 200m had similar results as Vu finished second with a time of 26.10, Bell finished third with a time of 26.47 and Sills finished fourth with a time of 26.92.
 
Zach Franco finished second in the men's 400m with a time of 50.42.
 
Jacob Warren finished third in the men's discus throw with a mark of 35.91m (117-ft, 9-in) and third in men's shot put with a mark of 12.49m (40-ft, 11.75-in).
 
In women's pole vault, Claire Skaggs finished second after clearing 2.75m (9-ft, 0.25-in).
 
Jocelyn Saribay threw a mark of 11.04m (36-ft, 2.75-in) in the women's shot put for a third place finish.
 
In women's triple jump, Margaret Zilla finished second with a mark of 10.03m (32-ft, 11-in) and Hannah Cook finished third with a mark of 8.84m (29-ft).
 
Head coach Scott Carter praised his team's performance with, "I'm really excited for the rest of the outdoor season after this March stretch. Our athletes have competed and practiced well all spring and we had several PR's and event winners this weekend, which is a great sign for the team leading up to the championship season"
 
The Saints next meet with be the PLU Invitational on Saturday, April 1st.
