The 2004-05 men’s golf team was the first SMU team to qualify for the National Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament since joining the NCAA Division II in 1998. The team earned the eighth seed into the Northwest/West Super Regional Tournament and finished tied for fourth to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship. Team members were: Shane Prante, Jared Bouchey, Chris Westrum, Jordan Burns, Kris Swanson, Elijah Perkins, Derek Siesser, Hiro Nezu and Casey Kobashigawa. The 2005-06 team earned a fifth seed to the Northwest/West Super Regional Tournament and finished second, which was the highest finish for a team at a regional, and again advanced to the NCAA Championship. The team finished 18th that season and team members were:  Shane Prante, Derek Siesser, Peter Perkins, Chris Westrum, John Eisentrout, Jordan Burns, Hiro Nezu, Sean O’Mera, Casey Kobashigawa, Olaf Rosberg, and Stephen Glenn. The Saints were coached by Kurt Kageler and Todd Abbott.
