Saint Martins Athletics

Roney is a 1964 graduate of Saint Martin's College and was a member of the baseball time during his college years.  After graduation, Dick stayed connected in many ways; he served as President of Saint Martin's Athletic Foundation, has served on the Board of Trustees, and has been a member of the Hall of Fame selection committee.  He started the Saint Martin's University golf tournament, which is going into its' 35th year and is one of the longest standing tournaments in Thurston County. Roney worked closely with Al Eckroth (HS '62, '66) and Dr. Richard B. Hecker ('81) to institute the annual President's Gala and co-chaired the event (2009-12). He co-chaired a task force of alumni to help establish the National Alumni Board, and is currently serving as its' Chair.
