In an era when the normal scored of a basketball game was about 25 points, one night in 1918 Henley scored 52 points. In 1919, the basketball team with just five players traveled to play undefeated Gonzaga. In a great upset, Saint’s won 32l-19 with Henley scoring 26 points. After ordination, Hanley coached college and high school teams and then became a parish priest until his death in 1988. He was inducted into Saint Martin's Hall of Fame in 1999.
