In 1969, Paul Fife was named to the High School All-American football team, along with the All-State and All-League teams. Fife set a state rushing record of 2,045 yards and was second in the state in scoring with 136 points. In 1968, his first year playing football, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 64 points while playing for Saint Martin’s High School. He was also named to the 1970 All-League baseball team. He was inducted into Saint Martin's Hall of Fame in 1998.
